aphasia relearned

A 501(C)(3) Organization

Mission: Our mission is to bridge the gap for stroke survivors and other individuals with aphasia by funding access to intensive, comprehensive, life-changing aphasia therapy programs that are often unknown and financially out of reach.

The science of neuroplasticity says that change and growth within the brain is indefinite. We don’t care if you are newly diagnosed or dealing with aphasia for decades, we exist to connect those in need with the financial support and resources that make recovery possible, ensuring no one is held back by cost or lack of information anywhere along their recovery timeline.

Meet Kent Emry

  • Our mission is inspired by Kent Emry, an accomplished entrepreneur and healthcare leader, who suffered a massive stroke in 2022 following a racing accident. The stroke left him unable to walk, talk  or move his right side  with aphasia being the most persistent challenge. Through access to comprehensive and intensive private-pay speech therapy programs, Kent has made remarkable progress in reclaiming his independence.

Kent’s journey revealed a stark reality: the most effective therapies for aphasia are prohibitively expensive, not covered by insurances and often unknown and undisclosed to those who need them most. Realizing that many people could not afford the therapy he attended and inspired by his recovery, Kent is determined to help others access these transformative programs, ensuring that cost and lack of awareness are no longer barriers to recovery.
